Halloween fun

Olivia has an aversion to looking at the camera and smiling at the same time. Here she is with a cheesy smile and eyes closed.
Eyes closed again-at least she is facing the camera.

What is she looking at?????

At least I got a good picture of the glass slippers I found at the Disney store and paid way too much money for-especially in our economy!!

My little turtle.

So we are lame and didn't carve a pumpkin this year-definitely next year. We were glad that we made a Jack-o-lantern at Tenille's birthday party. Olivia was so sad when we had to throw it away.

William and Olivia-She finally looks at the camera and he looks at her.
Will and Jolisa
I can't believe Halloween has come and gone. I kept thinking I was going to change my background to a fall theme, but never got around to doing it. Maybe I will do it right know! We still have Thanksgiving right!?

Halloween was fun. Olivia was Cinderella and Will was a turtle. We hit the neighborhood trick or treating and then went to Heidi and Ross's ward party/trunk or treat. Olivia had a fun time. She loved her costume and looked so cute. As you can see she REFUSES to LOOK at the camera. Will roasted in his turtle costume, but looked cute. It is weird that it is still so warm here. I miss the fall colors of Nebraska, Utah and Idaho. Perpetual vacation weather is fun, but strange at the same time. It was nice not to be freezing and bundled up on Halloween. There are always pros and cons I have decided.
I don't blog a much because I am too busy reading everybody else's blogs! It is hard to find the time to do my own. It is so fun to see what everyone is up to!

We are coming to Idaho for Thanksgiving. I can't wait! We are excited to see everyone.

Tagged again!

This is a fun tag. Here are the instructions.

Go to your 4th picture file.
Post the 4th picture in that file.
Tag 4 people.

Here it is...............

I guess everybody gets a digital camera when they have a baby! Jason and I didn't get one until I was pregnant with Olivia. We took sooooo many pictures of her as a teeny baby. I swear I have about a billion pictures of her in the carseat asleep and on a blanket on the floor. I just couldn't get over how small and perfect she was. This is very cliche, but they grow sooo fast. I remember when our friends kids were this big-I thought they were such old kids. But my sweet little Olivia is already that old. Soon she will be in high school.....I can't think about that-it is just too scary!

I tag Ann-Marie, Sara-Lynn, Michelle, & Breezy

Lately...

I really don't have anything exciting to say, but I know it is time for some kind of update. I read blogs and people have such interesting, witty, and funny things to say and post about. What can I say, my life is kind of routine-good-but not too many exciting things have happened lately. I did kill a big old black widow on our sidewalk the other night. It tried to cross at exactly the wrong time. It was big and ugly!
Oh yeah, I got a calling at church. That is something new to report. I am the Miamaid advisor, which seems to be really fun. The girls are all so sweet and the ladies I work with are great too!

Like I said, the kids and I are into a good routine, hitting the library and playgroup every week along with the two days of preschool for Olivia. She is quite the character. She has her hairdo destroyed moments after I fix it, and I documented this in pictures the other day. She loves to color and sing and dance around. She mostly pretends to be one of the Disney princesses. She like to help me clean and sing "whistle while you work." William is eating rice cereal and veggies and sitting up. He is also very interested in toys and eating his toes. Olivia is very into the letters of the alphabet lately and the other day at lunch she was biting her sandwich parts into different letters. She started by saying, "look mom, a J for Jolisa" then proceeded to make an L and a roller skate along with a few letters in between. I took a few pictures, which led to her wanting pictures of her letters taken every time she eats ANYTHING she can make a letter out of. Will has starting eating solid foods and is much more into it than Olivia was at this age. He also likes to eat his toes.

Here is Olivia moments after I fixed her hair. It is very secure I might add, hair spray and all. In about five minutes she will have rolled all over the floor, raked pillows and blankets over her head and then wonder why her hair is in her face and try to rip the ponytails out.

Don't ya just love sleeping babies? I could just eat him up he's so darn sweet!

He sits and plays with toys all the time now. He hasn't quite rolled over yet though.

Olivia bit this piece of cheese into a roller skate. And then started working on letters.

Here is Livvy with her "J for Jolisa"

So there is the latest! You are now officially up to date with us.

Swimming in October?

Olivia, William, and Jason swimming last night about 6:30-yes the water is a little cool, which is why I am taking the picture-and I hate to tell everyone, but I am not posting a picture of myself in a swimming suit on my blog EVER!
Okay, so technically October begins tomorrow, but last night we went swimming, so the weather here is definitely no where near any fall that I am used to. We made it through the summer and are really looking forward to the cooler months. I even took Olivia on a walk this morning at 6am. She doesn’t normally get up this early-I am not sure what woke her up. I just have to say that I miss my friend Elise, who I used to walk with in Omaha. We had such a good time on our walks and got in some good exercise with all the rolling hills of Nebraska. After going on a walk here I didn't even need to eat breakfast, because I was sure I ate a few of the gazillion bugs flying around outside. EEEWWW
Anyway, we had a nice summer. Will is growing and growing. He had his first taste of rice cereal, and seemed to really like it.

and here are a few recent pictures...

I would like to thank whatever member of our family taught Olivia about doing "silly pictures" Every time I get out the camera she wants me to take a "silly one" William got in on the action too in this one.

William likes the swing sometimes, most of the time he wants to be carried around. He is my cuddly baby-as opposed to Olivia who was not into cuddling.

First...I mean second day of preschool

Olivia started preschool on Tuesday, but it took me until Thursday to post this...incompetent blogger that I am. Anyway, she is going two days a week. She is sooo excited. This morning she woke up at 7am and had to wait and wait for preschool at 9. She has been telling everyone that her teacher is Miss Bedie. Before she had even been to preschool I was asking her cousins who their teachers were at school and Olivia piped up with "My teacher is Miss Bedie" which I had only told her a couple of times. I was surprised that she remembered! She seemed proud that she had a teacher like her big cousins Howie and Kali. Olivia's cousin, Brynn, is in her class so they are both very excited.

William had his four month appointment today. We are a little late since he is almost 5 months. (we were traveling) He is doing great! He is in the 42% for weight and the 57% for height. He got 4 shots which he was quite upset about. He is growing up so fast and is so much fun. I wish there was some kind of vaccination to keep them little babies longer!

Utah trip

William and me at my mom's house

Olivia at Lori's house in one of Shelby's old dance costumes. She told me that her Fairy Godmother had come and said Bibbidi Bobbodi Boo and given her this dress.

Olivia and me at the Aquarium in Sandy.

Mila and Olivia after a hard day of playing at Grandma's

My mom with her fourteen grandchildren

We had a great time! Jason drove us up and flew home so we would have a car.He flew back to get us a couple of weeks later. Three of my sisters live close to Salt Lake City and my sister from Boston was visiting, so we all got to be together! It was just like the good ole days. It gets a little crazy when we get together with all of our kids. But it was super fun. The kids and I stayed with my sister Lori, since Amy and her two girls were staying with mom. (Thanks Lori!) We went to Lagoon, shopping, and hung out a lot together. We even made a trip to Spanish Fork where we spent most of our growing up years. We hit the local greasy drive-inn restaurant "Glades" where Amy and I both worked during high school. The food is so yummy, but so bad for your arteries. We had a picnic at the park and let the kids play. The memories really came flooding back. We also had a family reunion. My mom only has one brother and he and his wife were able to come. It was really nice to see them. I got my hair cut about five inches which feels great in this hot AZ weather! I love it.

Me and My sisters. Julie, Amy, Michelle, Jolisa, Lori

I just have to say how much I love all of my sisters! It is hard to believe that we are such good friends now and fought like crazy when we were younger! I am so thankful for all of them. We are each very unique and similar at the same time.

Tagged by my friend Elise....

So finally I have a reason to blog.... Elise tagged me with these questions. I have to confess that I never do these things when I get them on my email, but I always like to read other people's answers. Plus, I can hear Jenn in the background saying it's about time that I posted something. I have been in Utah visiting my family so I have more to blog....come back soon. I will post some pics of my new haircut too!

What were you doing 10 years ago? Living at home in Spanish Fork, UT-Working, going to UVSC and growing my hair back in the places where I lost hair from the radiation.

5 things on my to do list. 1. Vacuum 2. Play with Olivia 3. Call about preschool for Olivia 4.Clean Olivia's bathroom. 5. Make dinner

What snacks do I enjoy? Lately, my favorite thing is chocolate milk. I have crossed over from skim milk to 1 % and put Nestle Quick in it. It is the best.

What would I do if I were suddenly a billionaire? I would pay off Jason's student loans. I would buy my mom a new car and house and whatever else she wanted. I would buy a fantastic violin and take lessons from a virtuoso.

Name 3 bad habits. Jeez! only 3 hmmmm... 1. Falling asleep watching movies. 2. Talking too much in general 3. Being afraid to try something new

Name 5 places I have lived. 1. I was born in Lubbock, TX and lived there for the first 6 months of my life. 2. American Falls, ID until about 6 years old 3. Spanish Fork, UT (The remainder of my unmarried life-22 years old) 4. Pocatello, ID (3 years) 5.Omaha, NE (3 years) CURRENTLY:PHOENIX, AZ

5 jobs I have had. 1. My first real job was at Glades in Spanish Fork. Glades is a yummy greasy spoon drive-in restaurant in Spanish Fork. I took orders and gave people their food. I could never be a real waitress in a restaurant- I would spill everything! I only worked there for about three months, but I gained five pounds. I swear I was soaking up the grease through my skin! 2. Wirthlin Worldwide- a research firm in Orem, UT. I called people and did surveys about General Motors and other companies. I worked at Wirthlin for about 5 years. 3. The Gap 4. A family dr. office as the receptionist. 5. Full-time mom.

5 things most people don't know about me. I can't think of anything-probably because I talk too much......

I guess I get to tag someone now and that is.......Jenn!

A little excitement

I haven't posted anything for awhile, because I am a blog drop out! No, I am just kidding, I just haven't had much to say. Anyway, today something happened that I thought was worth blogging about. I was talking on the phone to my good friend Elise when I saw a little shadow through the curtain. It looked like a a scorpion.... I said a few choice words into the phone and told Elise there was a scorpion in my house and I had to go. I knew I didn't have the guts to squish a scorpion, but I hoped I could muster them up. After taking a better look I realized that it was just a harmless little gecko. But was still very freaked out by the little reptile. I called my mom and told her, then I tried to call Jason who didn't answer. I called my sweet sister-in-law Heidi who came to my aid and brought her son over to catch the little creature. He deposited him in the backyard where I wouldn't be quite so freaked out by him if I saw him back there. I can always count on Heidi! I know she thinks I am a big baby-but still rescued me anyway! She is such a great sister-in-law. Here is a picture of the little bugger. You can have a good laugh because it is a tiny little thing. By the way, when I tried to post this before my computer freaked out and disconnected from the internet, so sorry for the tease.

Olivia and William

Here is a recent picture of Olivia and William. William just had his 2 month appointment. He weighed in at 11 lb. 12 oz. According to the growth chart he is tall and thin. He is growing so fast. Olivia just loves him. She loves to make him smile. The other day she said, "you gotta see this mom-he's smiling at me!"

Swimming Lessons

Olivia started swimming lessons last Monday. At first she was a little freaked out about staying in the water, because they can't touch the bottom they just have to hold on to the sides. She kept getting out, but by Thursday she thought it was a party. It is especially fun because her cousin Brynn is in her class. They have a fun time together, while Heidi and I try to stay cool in the triple digit weather. Heidi stays for a couple more hours while her other kids are busy in classes. I go home as quickly as possible to get to the air conditioning.

Scorpions.....

Ok, so I have to say that I am a little freaked out about the scorpions. When Jason got to Arizona he killed three scorpions outside of the house. He had the house sprayed before I got here and we thought the problem was taken care of-at least for a month. (you can get sprayed once a month) But on Saturday Jason was standing outside the screen door and Olivia and I were inside getting our shoes on to go outside. We were all just standing around-when Jason started freaking out- I quickly closed the door and Jason killed his fourth scorpion! Then late that night Jason went into the bathroom when he saw and killed another scorpion. Needless to say I am a little creeped out. Scorpions are not nice little creatures. Anyway, the exterminator is supposed to come back today and spray again. Hopefully he comes soon.

William's Blessing

We blessed William in my sister Lori's ward in Utah so we could have some of our family there. Jason's Grandpa Meador blessed the baby which Jason has always wanted him to do. Grandpa Meador joined the church after his two children were born, so this was the first time he had blessed a baby. He is a wonderful man and we are thankful that he was able to do it.

We have arrived.... in ARIZONA

We are here! After a very long drive with the two kids we made it to AZ. We are currently renting a house from Jason's brother Ross-it has a great pool in the backyard! So we are dealing with the heat quite nicely.

Feeling unsettled

So, Olivia, Will, and I have been staying with my mom in Utah while Jason gets things settled in AZ. It will be nice when we get to our house in Arizona so we can have some stability. It seems like we have been in limbo for the past couple of months! When we get to AZ my blog will get a little more interesting. I don't have all my pictures here, so there are things I want to post, but don't have the pictures. Anyway, the kids and I are having fun with my family and Jason will be here on Thursday. We are going to bless the baby on Sunday, and depending on when Jason gets his license, we will head to the dry heat of ARIZONA.

Recently in our lives....

Our second child was born on April 9th. We named him William Dieter. He weighed 7 lb and 7 oz. and was 19 inches long. He is such a sweet little baby and we are excited to have him in our family!

Jason graduated from Creighton University Dental School on May 10th. I got a great picture of him on the jumbotron getting his diploma. Now when do we have to start paying back those student loans????
